Force Majeure

 

Without prejudice to any rights or privileges of the carrier under covering bills of lading or under applicable provisions of law, in the event of war; hostilities; warlike operations; embargoes; blockades; congestion of ports, and multi-modal trade routes; equipment and ship space shortages; strikes or labor disturbances; regulations of any governmental authority pertaining thereto, or any other official interference with commercial intercourse arising from the above conditions and affecting the carrier's operations; the carrier reserves the right to cancel any outstanding booking or contract of carriage, or to increase the rates if in conformity with the provisions of the Shipping Act of 1984, and the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 1998, as revised.
