Freight Forwarder Compensation

 

 

  1. Payments of Compensation

 

  1. Compensation to a licensed ocean freight forwarder will be paid on the ocean segment of the transportation only to the extent of the value rendered in connection with any shipment dispatched on behalf of others when, and only when, such forwarder is licensed with the Federal Maritime Commission under the Shipping Act of 1984 and the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 1998, and has performed with respect to such shipment the solicitation and securing of the cargo or the booking thereof, or otherwise has arranged for space for such cargo and has performed at least two of the following services.
    1. The coordination of the movement of the cargo.
    2. The preparation and processing of the ocean bill of lading.
    3. The preparation and processing of dock receipts and delivery orders.
    4. The preparation and processing of consular documents and export declarations; and
    5. The payment of ocean freight charges on such shipments.

 

  1. Rates of Compensation

 

  1. Such compensation shall be based on percentage of the tariff rate for the commodity involved, or on a lump sum, amount per container.
  2. The applicable compensation shall apply to Export Shipments only.

Freight Forwarder Compensation shall be payable only on tariff line items where the compensation is expressly stated so.
